Palermo House
Palermo House is an LA-based furniture brand known for its modern lounge chairs and sofas.
I’ve been fortunate to connect with them to help save money and build a strong supply chain.
Project A - Invoice Reconciliation
Our first project was to help the team reconcile $20k in overcharges from their last mile carrier. The pricing they were promised did not match their invoices, and because the team documented the discrepancy well, they had a strong case, and all that was needed was frequent follow ups with their shipping carrier.
Project B - Last Mile Savings
IWe talked to dozens of Iron Margin partners, and most of them couldn’t beat their current pricing because of the awkward dimensions.
We stayed persistent, and one of my partners was able to beat their current pricing by about 27%. This carrier is only able to service 60% of the USA, so we are still using their old carrier for the other 40% of volume. So their actual blended last mile improvement is 16%. We are currently working on improving the rates for that other 40%.
While onboarding the new carrier, we started with a very small batch to test the performance. Their performance has been strong, and we have since ramped up volume.
Project C - 3PL Search
Our third project is to search for an LA-based 3PL.
Since LA is my home base, I have been fortunate enough to visit a few 3PL’s in person in this area. We will be evaluating options based on criteria I’ve developed through my experience of onboarding dozens of 3PL’s.
